Is This Right for You?
#

If you want to explore the underwater world once, a resort try dive may suit you. If you want to become a confident, skilled diver — with your eyes on future dives, exploration, and maybe even advanced training — then this is where it begins.

SDI Scuba Discovery (with Purpose)
#

SCUBA Discovery programs are typically offered as a casual “try dive” — a way to experience breathing underwater once, then walk away. While there’s nothing wrong with that, it’s not our preferred way to do it.

We only offer Scuba Discovery to people who are genuinely considering becoming divers but need a low-risk, informed way to decide.

In our case, your Discovery session isn’t a throwaway experience — it’s actually the first confined water session of your SDI Open Water course. So if you continue, nothing is repeated or wasted. If you don’t, you’ll still walk away with a solid understanding of the skills and requirements.

What to expect
#

As always, it all starts with our introductory call where we get to know each other. From there we agree on the day you would like to try out diving and book it in our calendars. The next steps are just as easy:

  • You will receive an e-mail containing your e-learning codes, as well as some more details we believe you should have
  • On the agreed day we meet up for a chat to see if you want to go over anything unclear from the e-learning and we review what you’ve learned
  • Then we head to the pool where we discuss the gear we’ll be using and once you’re comfortable with everything we get kitted up
  • We walk into the pool and the first thing we like to do is give you some time to breathe from the scuba system on the surface, just with your face in the water
  • Once you’re comfortable with that, guess what? We submerge and you take your first breaths underwater!
  • After we swim around for a while and maybe try some simple skills (depending on your comfort level), we exit the water, remove our gear and debrief
  • Next? Well in more than 90% of cases in our experience, next we start planning your SDI Open Water Scuba Diver course 😄. But you can also decide that this is not something you’d like to continue and that’s perfectly ok, this is why we do these sessions in the firs place.

The best part about going about it this way is that you will capitalize on this part instead of wasting your time - if you plan on going forward with your training, you’ve just learned about 10% of your Open Water Scuba Diver course.
